About Hillgenius

Own the Chaos

Hillgenius transforms how government affairs professionals monitor, analyze, and influence policy by turning congressional hearing videos into searchable, timestamped transcripts with accurate speaker attribution.

Our Story

Hillgenius was born from the daily grind of government affairs work—the kind of frustration that builds up after years of doing things the hard way.

Every hearing meant the same exhausting routine: frantically scribbling notes while trying to follow complex policy discussions, rewinding YouTube videos over and over to catch an exact quote, scrolling back and forth through hours of footage to find that one crucial exchange. Transcripts? Either nonexistent, inaccurate, or available weeks later when they were no longer useful.

The worst part was knowing that somewhere, buried in those 3-hour hearings, were the insights that could make or break a client's position—but finding them meant watching everything at double speed and hoping you didn't miss the key moment.

This daily struggle, combined with expertise in data science and artificial intelligence, led to the creation of Hillgenius—a platform built by someone who lived through these frustrations and decided there had to be a better way.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: help you own the chaos. We transform overwhelming government information into something you can actually use, starting with turning congressional hearings into searchable, timestamped transcripts with accurate speaker attribution.

Our Technology

Our system delivers accurate transcripts in 15-60 minutes after a hearing concludes. We use cutting-edge AI and machine learning to automatically identify speakers and create searchable, timestamped documents.

But we're not stopping at transcription. We have plans brewing that will change how government affairs professionals think about information and timing.

Founder: Zack Dareshori

Zack Dareshori, Founder of Hillgenius

Zack founded Hillgenius after experiencing government affairs challenges from multiple perspectives throughout his career in Washington D.C.

Starting at a healthcare government affairs firm, he moved in-house as a research fellow at a biopharmaceutical manufacturer, where he was responsible for monitoring policy developments across multiple committees and keeping executives informed of changes that could impact million-dollar decisions. The pressure was constant: miss something important, and the company could be blindsided.

Seeking to understand the government side, Zack moved to Capitol Hill as a staff assistant on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, then became legislative clerk for the Health Subcommittee. He discovered that even congressional staff struggled with the same basic problems: finding accurate information quickly and making sense of the constant information flow.

After Hill and executive branch experience, Zack pivoted into data science in 2020. He now works in government contracting where he uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to help the Department of Defense tackle complex operational challenges, including automating previously labor-intensive processes.

This ongoing experience with high-stakes AI implementation has shown him how technology can solve the problems he struggled with throughout his government affairs career. Zack's background spans private sector pressure, congressional chaos, executive branch complexity, and cutting-edge AI implementation—which means he understands both the problems and the solutions from every angle.
